Police: Woman Stabs Man In Self Defense

Colorado Springs police are investigating after a woman stabbed a man with a kitchen knife early Saturday morning.

Police said they believe the stabbing was in self defense.

Officials were called to the 400 block of Valley Hi Circle at the Marjorie Manor Apartments around 3 a.m.

Police said the Akeem Thomas, 27, physically attacked the woman and threatened to kill her. Investigators said she ended the struggle by stabbing him.

Thomas was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released. He faces charges of 3rd-degree assault and harassment. The victim had minor injuries during the fight.
