Supporters Rally At Lamborn Office
A group of 50 supporters gathered outside of Congressman Doug Lamborn’s Colorado Springs office Friday afternoon.
It was a gathering of several conservative groups from Southern Colorado.
One supporter said the congressman properly used the term as it is explained in a dictionary, and that is was in no way racist.
“Tar baby is a sticky situation. That is all it is. It could be a latex paint baby. It’s a sticky situation. It could be a super glue baby. It is really a sticky situation,” said Adrienne Pahrte.
The rally was held in response to a heated protested that happened in the same spot earlier in the week. Protesters said they were angry the congressman used a racist term, and wanted to speak to him in person.
Rep. Lamborn was not there for either of the gatherings. The congressman’s representatives said he is thankful for any support, and that he will be available to speak to any constituents with concerns when he returns to Colorado next week.
