Court Documents Reveal Details On Dougherty Chase
Lee Grace Dougherty, Ryan Dougherty and Dylan Dougherty Stanley, the once-federal fugitives continue to sit in the Pueblo County Detention Center.
Court documents reveal that Lee Grace Dougherty provided authorities with the most information.
According to the arrest affidavits, Ryan Dougherty was the driver. His sister claimed he was not shooting at police during the case because, “a person can’t drive and shoot a gun at the same time.”
Police said they now believe Lee Grace and Dylan were the only possible shooters.
KRDO NewsChannel 13 has learned that the pursuit could have resulted a police officer’s death.
Walsenberg Police Chief Chamberlain chased Lee Grace after she tried to escape on foot. Court documents indicate that when Chamberlain identified himself as a police officer, Lee Grace stopped, turned and pointed her weapon directly at him. Chamberlain pulled his weapon and fired at the woman. She was shot in the thigh.
During an interview, Lee Grace Dougherty told police, “I pointed the gun at the cop… deserved to get shot… the pain was all through my body.”
In Colorado, the Dougherty siblings are all facing individual charges of attempted murder in the first degree.
