El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputies Make Home Invasion Arrest
El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested an man who they says broke into a home and attempted to assault a woman.
El Paso County Sheriff?s deputies arrested Joseph Ingram, 45, of Colorado Springs man on Monday.
He broke into a home and attempted to assault a woman, said El Paso County deputies.
According to a news release from the El Paso County SHeriff’s Office, the incident started about 7:10 a.m. on Monday.
The El Paso County Sheriff?s Office received a 911 call from a 46-year old woman in the Cimarron Hills area who told deputies a man had forced his way into her home and attempted to assault her with a knife.
A struggle ensued, but the woman was able to escape out her back door and call for help from a neighbor?s house, said deputies. The woman was able to describe the suspect and his clothing, deputies said.
While checking the area, patrol deputies found a man matching the physical description near a dumpster in the area, said deputies.
The man was detained, and the woman came to the location and identified him as the man who broke into her house, said deputies. The deputies checked the dumpster and found clothing matching the description provided by the woman, deputies said.
Ingram was booked into the Criminal Justice Center for first degree burglary, menacing, and criminal attempted second degree assault, accordint to the sheriff’s office. His bond $1million.
Mr. Ingram has an extensive criminal history out of New York, including burglary, sexual assault, kidnapping, and arson, said the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
