Multiple Car Fires In Pueblo County

Three cars went up in flames Sunday morning in Pueblo. Investigators were trying to figure out how it happened.

Investigators weren’t calling it arson, but they did say the fire was suspicious.

It all started Saturday morning around 9:30 on Pueblo Boulevard and 11th Street.

Lisa Shorter, a spokesperson for the Pueblo County Sheriff?s Office said a Cadillac Escalade was the fire car to catch on fire. The fire spread from the Escalade to two other cars, either from sparks of flying embers. Shorter said they later found out the Escalade had been reported stolen.

The area this all happened is in an area with no fire protection, that means volunteers responded to the call.

All car owners have been notified. Now, the investigation will focus on what or who started the fire.

?We have an arson investigator as part of the Emergency Services Bureau for the sheriff’s office. He is working with our investigators, the law enforcement side, to try and figure out what happens next,? said Shorter.

If you have any information, you are asked to call the Pueblo County Sheriff?s Office at 719-583-6250.

There was also another car fire Saturday afternoon by Lake Pueblo. There is no connection between that fire and the one earlier in the day.

Investigators believes the car fire our by Lake Pueblo was a mechanical issue.
