POLICE: Man Greets Officers With A Sword

A Colorado Springs man was arrested after greeting Colorado Springs police officers with a 3-foot sword, according to authorities.

Police said Officers were called the the Verde Meadows Apartments around 2 a.m. Saturday when firefighters asked for assistance.

Officials said medical personal and a police officer tried to talk to Brandon Bridwell, 30, who came to the door with the sword.

Officers backed away and got a search warrant for the apartment and an arrest warrant for Bridwell, police said.

Bridwell was taken into custody and charged with Menacing.
