Plane Crash at Meadow Lake Airport
Officials said a plane crashed at Meadow Lake airport in El Paso County Friday.
The small experimental aircraft had what El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies describe as a hard landing, which flipped the plane onto its top.
Deputies identified the pilot at James MacDougald, 83, of Colorado Springs. Federal Aviation Administration records show he is the registered owner of the plane.
MacDougald suffered a leg injury and maybe a head injury, but he is expected to be okay, deputies said.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate the cause of the crash. .
