Man Fires Shots Into Neighbor’s Apartment

A Colorado Springs man was arrested after police said he shot through his floor into the apartment of his neighbor downstairs.

Investigators said a family, including a 2-year-old girl, was sleeping when the shots were fired into their home around 2:30 a.m at the Greentree Apartments On North Carefree Circle. No one was hurt.

Police arrived at the apartment complex to find a rifle with several magazine and ammunition boxes in the upstairs apartment.

Officials said they arrested Ashton Chermack, 20, and searched his apartment.

Chermack faced charges of illegal discharge of a firearm, prohibited use of weapons, child abuse and reckless endangerment, Police said.
