CSFD: Two Boys Rescued From Swollen Creek

Rescue crews from the Colorado Springs fire department are administering aid to a pair of boys pulled from a fast moving creek.

It is not clear at this time if the boys were pulled from the water, or if crews arrived shortly after they emerged.

Passersby spotted the two juveniles playing in a creek on American drive, a small road that runs behind the shops at Austin Bluffs and North Academy.

The person who called in the emergency said the boys were clinging to tree branches, before they lost site of them.

Both boys emerged safely, but were being checked out for injuries.

The CSFD reminds everyone to avoid drainage ditches and creeks during any period of significant rain. Creeks can swell quickly, and become dangerous in a short amount of time.
