Opinions On Debt Ceiling
With just days left to go the uncertainty in Washington has left many on edge.
KRDO NEWSCHANNEL 13 talked to people in downtown Colorado Springs and most of them were ready for the politics to end.
?I think that both parties in the congress are being very silly,? said Chris Spiegel. ?They’re not keeping their eye on the main ball.?
?We?re all forced as individuals to balance our house, you know I think it would be nice to see the country do that too,? said John Townsley.
Congress is currently discussing a plan to raise the debt limit by more than two trillion dollars and cut spending by more than that.
?We can’t keep spending the way we are so we have to kind of look at things in the big picture,? said Townsley. ?There?s going to be some hard choices.?
For now Congress has some choices to make before Tuesday night. But after Tuesday public opinions will persist.
?The billionaires and millionaires living in America also have to learn that they have to pay their fair share,? said Spiegel.
Most people said they weren?t too worried. They felt that a deal would be reached before midnight Tuesday.
It?s still unclear if Boehner can get enough support from house republicans to pass the deal.
