Little Britches Ends

Little cowboys and cowgirls left Pueblo this weekend. The National Little Britches competition ended on Saturday.

The world titles were given to the best young riders.

There were nearly 800 competitors this year, and well over 1,000 people at the State Fair Grounds for the event. They stayed in town for about a week.

Several city attractions even gave the riders and their families discounts. City leaders said this was done in order to promote them exploring the city.

Many young riders said they really enjoyed coming back to Pueblo for the event.

The national competition brought people from all over the country to the steel city.

?That’s the beauty of little britches, you get to meet people from all over the nation. I got to meet people from South Dakota, Mississippi, Louisiana, and you get to know these people that you want to see year after year,? said competitor Shawn Haas.

Many said their favorite part of the competition is getting to meet people from around the U.S.

Many hope to qualify so they can come back next year.
