Family Of Slain Brothers Seeks Help

A triple slaying Wednesday night left three teens dead, including two brothers. Wayne Fix, 19, and Aaron Fix, 16, were fatally shot in their car at the 5200 block of Mira Loma Circle. There was another 16-year-old boy in the car, who was also killed.

?Wayne went to go pick up his brother and friend and take them home. They were only a few blocks from home, and then something like this happens,? said Bob Atkins, the boys? grandfather.

Atkins? home was filled with friends and family Thursday, showing their support and condolences.

?I?ve never heard of anybody not liking Aaron and Wayne. There would be no reason for this type of action. Not only to them but to any child,? said Atkins.

The boys? mother, Staci Burrows, said they were a very close family. She said Aaron wanted to go into the military and that Wayne was a dedicated father to a 2-year-old girl.

?They will always be in my heart, nobody can take that away from me,? said Burrows.

Many at Atkins? home said there were no words to describe the tragedy, and they are pleading for anybody?s help.

?Somebody has to know who these people are, and we need to get them off the street. I mean, it could be your kids, your grandkids. We just need to stop it. So please, if you know anything, call police. Please,? said Atkins.

A memorial fund has been set up by co-workers of the boys? father, Rick Fix. The money will go toward funeral and arrangement needs and toward Wayne Fix?s daughter?s college fund. The fund has been set up under the name ?Rick Fix Memorial Fund? at Wells Fargo. The account number is 5790719370.

There will also be donation boxes at Colorado Springs Yo-Yogurt locations beginning Friday. The locations are as follows: 5885 Stetson Hills Boulevard, 8816 N. Union Boulevard and 8816 N. Union Boulevard.
