Elbert County Deputy Injured In Traffic Crash

An Elbert County Sheriff’s deputy was hurt in a traffic accident around noon on Thursday on Hiwghay 86 near the town of Elizabeth.

The crash involved three vehicles, said the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office.

One of the drivers was cited for careless driving, said the sheriff’s office. The drivers of the other two vehicles were treated by paramedics at the scene of the accident and released, said deputies.

The deputy involved in the accident is expected to be okay, said Elbert County Sheriff Shayne Heap.
