Phony Marine Resurfaces With New Fake Identitiy

A Colorado man who duped the public into thinking he was a decorated Marine veteran has returned with a new scam.

Our sister station KMGH in Denver has learned that Richard Strandlof has been posing as attorney Rick Gold.

According to their investigation, Strandlof has been claiming to be a high-profile attorney at a Denver law firm, and has been spending a lot of time in the Jewish community, telling people that he was born in Israel.

The FBI investigated Strandlof in 2009 for allegedly violating the Stolen Valor Act by pretending to be a veteran.

Agents said they?re aware of the new developments but didn?t offer additional comment.
