2 Teller Co. Sheriff’s Employees Cited For Misdemeanor Child Abuse

Two Teller County deputies were cited by Park County Sheriff’s Deputies for misdemeanor child abuse after allegedly being drunk and unable to care for children who were with them.

Park County deputies were called to 38178 Park County Road 77 on Saturday, about 12:30 a.m. after receiving a report of an unresponsive man at the home, said deputies.

Park County deputies arrived to find four unsupervised children and two intoxicated adults in the home, deputies said.

The two adults were later identified as as Kendal Klug and Joni Coleman, who are both employed by the Teller County Sheriff’s Office, said Park County deputies.

Klug and Coleman were issued summonses for misdemeanor child abuse and the children were turned over to responsible adults, said Park deputies.

The Teller County Sheriff’s office is refusing to comment on the status of these two employees within the department in light of this incident.
