Colorado Springs Olympic Day Coming Soon

The Olympics are coming to Colorado Springs!

Olympic Day is celebrated by thousands of people in more than 160 countries. It honors the birth of the modern Olympic games and is an international effort to promote fitness and well-being.

Colorado Springs will start the celebration on June 23 at Memorial park. Kids already enrolled in City Community Center summer camps will participate with a field day beginning at 10 a.m.

There will be a free youth sports clinic on June 25. Children will have the opportunity to learn a new skill or sport from some of the top coaches in the U.S. Free youth sports clinics are taking place at Memorial Park, Hillside Community Center and Meadows Park Community Center.

Community Appreciation Day at the Olympic Training Center will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.,. Everyone is invited to enjoy Olympic sport demonstrations by top U.S. athletes, food and more.

There will also be a USA Boxing National Championships on June 25 at 6 p.m. at the Historic City Auditorium downtown Colorado Springs

Tickets are on sale now through www.ticketwest.com or by phone at 719-576-2626. General admission is $15 in advance until June 20; $20 at the door on June 25.
