New Complaints Filed Against Police Officer

The child sex abuse case against Colorado Springs police Officer Joshua Carrier now could have as many as 11 victims.

Five potential victims are filing complaints against Carrier. That adds to six alleged victims already involved in the investigation. Carrier is charged with sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. He also is accused of inappropriately touching children and of possessing child pornography.

Few details about the charges are available because the arrest warrant remains sealed. Carrier was first arrested three weeks ago. He was in court Tuesday seeking to have his bond lowered on the sexual assault charge. However, a judge delayed that decision for a week to give an attorney for some of the alleged victims more time to prepare.

Carrier is a school resource officer and worked with teens in the police Explorer program, advising teens interested in police work. He also is a former middle school wrestling coach.
