FAQ About 2011 AFA Graduation On May 25

The Academy Security Forces team have established traffic control and parking restrictions for the graduation ceremony at Falcon Stadium Wed., May 25

What You Need To Know Gates will open at 8.a.m to the public, with graduates entering the stadium around 10 a.m.

Graduation tickets are needed for entry into the stadium.

The academy said you should arrive no later than 9 a.m. due to increased security and expected heavy traffic.

Gate, Parking Information

If you enter through the north gate, you’ll be parked in lots 5 and 5a off Academy Drive If you enter through the south gate, you’ll be parked in lots 1, 2 and 2A.

All vehicles will be subject to ID card checks.

Department of Defense ID cardholders may show their ID and the vehicle will be allowed through; vehicles without an ID cardholder must show a valid driver’s license and will be inspected.

Handicapped parking will be at the top of Lot 2, outside of Gate 3 and at the top of Lot 5. Guests are encouraged to carpool with DOD cardholders due to security checks and limited stadium parking.

Please note that there are no elevators in the stadium, and handicapped-accessible seating is limited and first-come, first-serve in the top row of the L sections of the stadium.

General Security Information Everyone attending graduation will go through magnetometers before entry into Falcon Stadium. Purses and personal items will be inspected, the academy said.

No boxes, alcohol, weapons, firecrackers, signs or poles, beverage containers of any sort, backpacks, large handbags, coolers, thermoses or similar items will be allowed in the stadium Food and drink are prohibited with the exception of clear, factory-sealed bottles of water, 24 ounces or less Cameras and video cameras are permitted; however, please be prepared to remove camera lenses for security inspection at the stadium gates Diaper bags will be allowed when a child is present, but no strollers are allowed Refreshments will be available from vendors throughout the stadium

Beginning at 10 a.m., graduation day, no one will be allowed to exit the stadium until the Thunderbirds demonstration is complete at approximately 1 p.m. Also, to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations, no one will be allowed in parked cars, or driving or walking within the performance area.
