Teachers To Get Technology Grants
Four Southern Colorado teachers will receive grants from Qwest to promote technology in the classroom.
According to information released by Qwest the following awards will be given out on Wednesday to teachers at various Colorado Springs schools:
$5,300 to Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind teacher Jan Megarry for Intel readers to improve literacy and comprehension in science, language arts and social studies for blind and visually impaired students.
$7,300 to Broadmoor Elementary School teacher Rebecca Royall for an Apple iPod learning lab to close observable gender gaps in reading and writing performance in her students.
$2,700 to Sproul Junior High School teacher Lynn Bustamante for Pad CPS Pulse clicker systems to increase student motivation and achievement in math.
$6,250 to Vista Ridge High School teacher Jaime Levi to stimulate interest in science through Vernier sensors for lab measurements in and outside of the classroom.
