2 More Arrested In Child Porn Bust

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Detectives from the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit added two more arrests to the list of those that have been taken into custody for sharing images of child pornography.

On Dec. 14, detectives executed a search warrant at a house in Parker, related to child pornography distribution and possession.

David Baum, 32, of Parker, was arrested and taken to the Douglas County Detention’s Facility where he was booked in on 2 counts of sexual exploitation of a child. Baum bonded out later that day on a $10,000 bond.

Ronald Barrett, 71, was arrested in Glenwood Springs and brought back to the Douglas County Detention’s Facility on a case that began earlier this spring.

In April, detectives received information from the Utah Attorney General’s Office that there was a computer at a residence in Sedalia, that was sharing and distributing images of child pornography.

After detectives discovered the exact location, a search warrant was executed and it was determined that the computer sharing the images belonged to Barrett. At the time of the search warrant, Barrett was at a local hospital on an unknown medical situation.

When it came time to issue Barrett a summons to appear in court, he had left the area and a warrant was issued. He was arrested on Dec. 11. He was booked in on charges of 7 counts of sexual exploitation of a child and 1 count of sexual exploitation of a child.

Barrett was released on Dec. 17 on a $50,000 bond.
