KRDO, located on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, is seeking a Weather Anchor/Reporter. This position prepares and presents graphics driven weather forecasts while maintaining Storm Tracker 13 weather brand. Also, makes contacts, schedules interviews, gathers facts, writes, edits, produces, and presents news stories as schedules.
Duties and Responsibilities: Produces weather presentation in scheduled weekend newscasts; prepares and delivers forecast for radio; updates forecast on the website; executes, supports and strengthens weather brand in newscasts, radio broadcasts and web writing. Reports live from the field and assembles news stories when weather conditions warrant; attends daily story meetings; prepares and presents all assigned and breaking news stories for distribution on television and website.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or Communications with a Meteorology background; a minimum of one year on-air at a commercial broadcast television station. Prior experience with weather graphics systems, a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, world wide web, email and newsroom computer software (ENPS, wide-Orbit, WinCue, etc.)
