Patti Moon – Anchor/Reporter
I have three goals at the start of each day: learn something new, discover a new way to look at something and put myself in somebodyelse’s shoes. That’s why I’m thrilled to be reporting for NEWSCHANNEL13.
Before moving to Colorado Springs, I reported for the Medill NewsService in Washington D.C. Enterprising stories with a focus oneducation, I talked to students, educators and lawmakers. The job alsogave me a chance to work in Chicago, IL where I was a health reporter.Health news is one of my passions and I’m always interested in newtechnologies and medical mysteries.
My first jump into broadcast news started in the small town of Quincy,IL where I worked for WGEM. After experiencing firsthand how localnews affects a community, I never turned back…I will forever be a newsnerd.
I’m a proud graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School ofJournalism. I completed my B.S.J. and M.S.J. in August of 2008,majoring in journalism with a minor in political science. I washonored as one of UWire’s Top 100 College Journalists and anchored anational news show for OSTN.
Outside of the news world, I love music. I play the piano, flute andsing. I also love traveling and foreign languages. I’ve exploredEurope and Asia. I speak Korean and a little French.
As a Colorado native, I’m so happy to be back home with family, friends and close to the Rocky Mountains. I’m always excited to meetnew people and hear your stories.
