Eliminating Tax Breaks To Help State Budget
DENVER — Colorado Democrats want to get rid of more than 100 tax breaks to help bring in more money to the state.
Lawmakers have already voted to end several tax breaks, including ones on soda and candy. The new move could bring in $1.5 billion a year to the state.
Democrats say they want to study the impact first before any bill is written or voted on. Republicans aren’t opposed to the study but say they’d like voters to have the final say on the elimination of tax breaks.
