Red Cross Pikes Peak Chapter Has New CEO

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Pikes Peak Chapter of the American Red Cross has a new CEO. The organization made the announcement on Wednesday.

According to the local chapter, Thomas L. Gonzalez, Jr. will take over the top spoton April 5, 2010. Mr. Gonzales replaces former CEO David Just who left recently after leading the chapter for the past five years.Gonzalez is an experienced Boy Scouts of America executive from Denver.

According to a news release: Pikes Peak Chapter board chair Dirk Hobbs said “Our board is extremely pleased with the selection of Thomas Gonzalez to lead the chapter,” adding that “Thomas brings new energy and broad non-profit management experience to our chapter. He is the exact combination of seasoned non-profit executive and leader that the Board was looking for, and we are thrilled to have him joining the Red Cross mission. The entire board is looking forward to working with him to enhance the chapter’s capacity to serve people throughout southeast Colorado, and to help the community become more aware of our ongoing fulfillment of our mission right here in southern Colorado .” Mr. Gonzales will begin his new role with the Pikes Peak chapter of the American Red Cross in early April.

The Red Cross would like to thank the citizens of Colorado Springs for their faithful support in the past and is committed to meeting the needs of the community now and in the future.
