Despite Record Warmth Today Cold Weather Means More Skiing

ASPEN – Despite some record warm temperatures in parts of Colorado on Tuesday, the Aspen Skiing Co. is extending the ski season.

Aspen Ski Company says there hasbeen enough snow and cold temperatures to extend the ski season at Aspen Mountain for two more weekends.

Aspen Mountain planned to close April 11, but resort officials said Tuesday that lifts also would run for the weekends of April 17-18 and April 24-25.

This is the third straight year that Aspen Skiing Co. has offered an extended season.

Among the other mountains that Aspen Skiing Co. operates, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk plan to close April 4, and Snowmass plans to close April 11.
