Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Looking For Escaped Otter

COLORADO SPRINGS – Cheyenne Mountain Zoo officials are searching for an escaped otter. The North American river otter is one of four that escaped their enclosure at the zoo Friday. Three were rounded up, but one managed to get off the Zoo property.

It has been seen in the Broadmoor neighborhood. The four-foot long otter should not be a threat to people or pets, but the zoo warns that it may find ornamental fish in outdoor ponds tasty.

An Otter Hotline has been set up. If you spot the otter call648-7348, but don’t try to capture it yourself.
