Soldiers Return Home From Iraq

FORT CARSON — Soldiers from the 71st Explosive Ordinance Group are back at home.

Thirty soldiers returned to Fort Carson early Friday morning. The soldiers served a 12-month deployment in support of Combined Joint Task Force Troy at Camp Victory in Baghdad.

The soldiers provided direct support to four division-level headquarters and 15 brigade and regimental combat teams through the integration of EOD forces into Counter-Improvised Explosive Device operations. They also conducted more than 6,500 missions resulting in the destruction of 235,500 pounds of explosives.
