Two Women Assault & Rob A Man Outside A Springs Bar

By: Patti Moon

COLORADO SPRINGS – Police are investigating an unusual assault and robbery that happened outside a bar overnight.

A fight between two women and a man started elsewhere, but continued in the parking lot of the Bijou Bar & Grill around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

Colorado Springs Police say the fight turned physical when one of the women started hitting the man.

“Both females attack the male,” Sgt. Steve Noblitt said. “The male at one point is knocked down and one of the females reaches into his pocket and removes some cash from his clothing and flees this area.”

The suspects left the area before police arrived on scene. Police say it is a common misperception that only women can be victims of assault.

“I’ve been a police officer for over 15 years and I’ve seen plenty of male victims at the hand of a female, so maybe it’s just not as heard about,” said Noblitt.

The victim did not suffer any serious injuries and police are confident about making arrests soon.

“We do have some leads in this case and we’re feeling pretty comfortable with our investigation,” Noblitt said.
