Power Being Restored In Pueblo

PUEBLO – Tens of thousands of Black Hills Energy customers of are getting their power back.

Tom Kirkpatrick of Black Hills Energy says 13,000 customers in Pueblo and Pueblo West had their power out at the height of the outage early Wednesday morning. The outages began in different areas all over the Steel City at about 10:30pm on Tuesday night. As of 12:00 p.m., Wednesdayonly about 800 customers, mostly inPueblo Westand the Belmont areaare still without power.

Kirkpatrick says the outage was caused by some downed power linesdue toheavy snow and winds. He did not give a time frame on when power would be restored to all customers but said it will be a problem through most of the day, Wednesday.

5 crews worked overnight to fix the issue, and fresh crews were brought it early Wednesday morning to work through the rest of the day.
