Driver Killed When Car Slides Into Oncoming Traffic

PROWERS COUNTY – A driver was killed on Highway 287 near Lamar about 5:30 Wednesday morning when his car slid into oncoming traffic.

The Colorado State Patrol says Andy Voss, 52, of Eads, may have been driving too fast on the snow packed, icy highway.

His car was struck by a semi when the southbound car spun and then swerved into the northbound lane. The impact slammed the car off the road.

Voss was killed.

The truck’s driver was not injured.
