CSPD Seeking Assistance In Unsolved Homicide Case

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Colorado Springs Police Department is seeking assistance in learning the whereabouts of a homicide victim the night of the attack on December 22, 2009.

43-year-old Greg Carter received a head injury but refused to go to the hospital until the following day. Soon after his admission, he fell into a coma and succumbed to his injuries on January 6, 2010.The El Paso County Coroner’s Office ruled the cause of death as severe blunt trauma to the head, and the manner of death as Homicide.

A friend was the last person to see Carter before the attack around 8:30 p.m. December 22. He appeared at his home later that evening with the head injury.Police believe that Carter may have run out of gas somewhere in the city that evening, and may have been assisted by one or more persons.

This is the third homicide in Colorado Springs this year and there were four this time last year.
