CSU-Pueblo Students Oppose Campus Gun Ban

PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) – Students at Colorado State University in Pueblo aren’t happy about the prospect of a campus ban on concealed weapons.

The two CSU campuses are likely to ban concealed weapons after the universities’ Board of Governors voted last month to require bans. The campuses are among the only schools in the country that currently allow concealed weapons.

At the Fort Collins campus, student government leaders opposed the ban, though faculty supported it. At the Pueblo campus, students and faculty took the same split in separate votes on Monday.

The CSU gun bans will be presented for further consideration by the Board of Governors on Feb. 17 in Pueblo.
