Colorado’s ‘Faster’ Bill Is Now Law; Vehicle Registration Fees Going Up
THORNTON – A bill that will increase registration fees on cars and SUVs to raise $250 million for transportation projects has been signed into law.
Gov. Bill Ritter signed the bill Monday near a deteriorating highway bridge in the north Denver suburb of Thornton.
He says the bill will put thousands of people to work on construction jobs at a time when the country is suffering from a recession.
He says the legislation will also protect public safety.
