Dozens Of Cars Damaged By Vandals

COLORADO SPRINGS – Police are trying to figure out who is responsible for damaging 30 – 40 cars in Northwest neighborhoods in Colorado Springs. The crime happened early Sunday morning. Dozens of car and truck windows were busted out in the Rockrimmon and Mountain Shadows neighborhood.

Toni Ellsworth lives in Rockrimmon, her car was hit hard. Ellsworth lost her windshield, 2 windows on the drivers side and her back window. She says the damage will cost around $900 to repair.

Taylor Bailey lost the back window of her Honda, she says, “we were just sitting outside smoking a cigarette having a good time, they were doing construction at the other house a couple of nights ago so i just thought when we heard the smacking of glass it was just construction.” Police pointed out the damage to Bailey. “Glass was all the way to the front seat so it looked like someone came from your side where you’re standing smacked straight into the car with a baseball bat is what they were saying, and it was just everywhere.”

Witnesses tell NEWSCHANNEL 13 teens are responsible for the crime. If you have any information that might help police catch the people responsible for this weekends vandalism call police at 444-7000.
