Calhoun Staying At Air Force

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) – Amid speculation he could beheaded to Tennessee, Air Force coach Troy Calhoun says he’s lookingforward to coaching the Falcons again in 2010. Calhoun, 25-14 with three bowl appearances in three years at theAcademy, issued a three-sentence statement through the schoolThursday that indicated he had no plans of leaving for Tennessee,which abruptly lost head coach Lane Kiffin to USC this week. Calhoun said he is proud to work at the academy and wasdiligently recruiting and preparing for next season. Calhoun has called an afternoon team meeting but the topic was unknown.

His statement:

“We are more than grateful and proud to be closely involved with the character building of our cadets and the mission of the United States Air Force Academy. We are diligently recruiting and working with our team to prepare for the upcoming season. We look forward to coaching and being a part of the Air Force Academy team both on and off the field in 2010.”
