COLORADO SPRINGS – The last time that streetcars were seen in the city of Colorado Springs dates back to April 30th, 1932, and today steps are being taken to bring them back.
One of the first steps is to gather feedback from the local community. The Colorado Springs Street Car Feasibility Study will be holding a meeting tonight involving the public.Starting at 7:30 the public who attends will be shown an exhibit, see a presentation called “streetcar 101” and voice their opinions on the matter.
The talks have been going on seriously since 1995 according to Howard Novle is a Pikes Peak Street Railway Expert. He explains that, “about a year or so ago we were asked by the downtown business people if we would be interested on operating on Tejon.”
If you are interested in attending the meeting it will be located in the City Administration Building which is located at 30 South Nevada Avenue, starting for the public at 7:30 PM tonight January 12th, 2010.
