COLORADO SPRINGS – Police are still looking for two suspected shoplifters, one of whom fired a shot inside a Wal-Mart entrance. Police are not releasing a description of the two, who got into an altercation with storesecurity inside the north entrance of the Wal-Mart at 8250 Razorback Road near Chapel Hills Mall.
“I do not have a description that I’m prepared to release at this time,” said Colorado Springs Police Sergeant Scott Schwall. “Robbery detectives are on scene investigating this incident and are working on leads right now.”
“I was in the back of the store in the shoe department, at the very back of the store and I heard a very loud bang,” said witness Sam Humpert. “It was a very loud bang, it was not a normal sound. It had to be something in the store because it was too loud to be out in the parking lot.”
No one was hurt in the shooting. The two suspects took off and have not been caught.
“They came on the PA and they said to stay away from that exit basically,” said witness Rhys Wilson.
“We were on the other side of the store, Wal-Mart’s a big place,” said shopper Jayme Brooks.
“Nobody was hit, nobody was transported by any ambulance to any scene, no ambulance was ever requested at this scene. There are no injuries,” said Sgt. Schwall.
