COLORADO SPRINGS -Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is visiting Colorado Springsas part of her national book tour.
Palin is scheduled to sign copies of her book “Going Rogue” at a Borders book store in the Colorado Springs Chapel hills mall Tuesday evening. She may be arriving early, the line for her signing will now start at 3 p.m.
Despite frigid weather, hundreds of people lined up starting at 6:30 a.m. to get a color-coded wrist bands, indicating their place in line, that will allow them to get into the book signing. About 1,000 were distributed.
The book signing is set to run from 7 to 10 p.m. and organizers says Palin will sign as many books as she can.
Hundreds of supporters of former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin braved frigid weather in Iowa to get the former Alaska governor to sign copies of her new book.
Palin’s stop in Iowa increased speculation about a possible presidential bid. The state’s caucuses usually kick off the presidential nominating season.
But although political strategists say the visit is a sign that can’t be missed, Palin did little more at the tightly controlled appearance than sign books. Only a few photographers were allowed in briefly, and reporters were banned.
Still, the location appeared carefully chosen. Palin’s stop was in Republican-dominated western Iowa, a region likely to be her base if she decides to pursue a presidential run.
