Grab Your Calendar: Next Pueblo Swine Flu Clinics

PUEBLO – Two H1N1 clinics are being held this weekend in Pueblo.

The first will be Saturday, November 21, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm inside the Pueblo County High School. The second will beSunday, November 22, 1:00-4:00pm in Colorado City at 4850 Crow Cut Off Road.

The clinics are free and open to any resident in Pueblo County, but they will have to be considered a “priority” patient to get the H1N1 vaccine.

Priority patients are:

pregnant women, household contacts or caregivers for infants less than 6 months old, all people 6 months to 24 years old, all people 25-64 years old with one or more chronic illnesses,law enforcement & fire personnel,all health care workers,teachers and school personnel.

Here are important details for you about the clinic:

If you’re already sick or showing signs of illness, you won’t get the vaccine, and will be asked to go home. All minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Several doctor’s offices have received the H1N1 flu vaccine and are contacting their high risk patients to schedule vaccinations. WIC clients can also receive the vaccine during their regular appointments. At this time vaccine is also available at the Walgreens pharmacy located in Pueblo West for $18. Please plan ahead before you attend. Dress appropriately for the weather. Plan for the likelihood that you will need to stand in line. Adults and children should wear loose-fitting clothing that allows for arms (legs for children) to be exposed briefly for the H1N1 shot.
