‘Harvest Of Love’ Food Drive Under Way

COLORADO SPRINGS -Nasty weather didn’tkeep people throughout the Pikes Peak region and Pueblo from helping the less fortunate. Saturday’s”Harvest of Love Food Drive” hopedto stock Care & Share cupboards withThanksgiving fast approaching.

The food drive went from 6 a.m.to6 p.m. atthe American Family Warehouse locations in Colorado Springs and Pueblo. Care & Share accepts canned food and other non-perishable items. Cash donations also are encouraged because Care & Share can buy ten pounds of food for every dollar.

The food donations will ultimately be used by soup kitchens, pantries, churches and other groups providing meals to the needy. Care & Share expects the need to increase as much as 40% because of hard times due to the economy.
