Fallen Soldier Fort Carson Soldier
COLORADO SPRINGS – A Colorado Springs family mourns the loss of staff Sergeant Glenn Stivison. He was killed last week in Afghanistan. We haven’t gotten official word from the Department of Defense on exactly how Sergeant Stivison was killed. Family members say it was related to an IED explosion.
His wife Erin Stivison says, “my husband was a soldier’s soldier. he loved his job he loved his country. Pretty much my husband bled red white and blue.” Sergeant Glenn Stivison served in the Army for fourteen years. Beth Leaver his Mother-In-Law says, “Stivy was always the leader. his wife eryn and her parents say he was killed when an ied went off near his vehicle.”
Sergeant Stivison has two sons an eight year old Blaze and a six year old Andrew. Leaver says, “I just want people to know what a hero he was and is to this day.” Sgt. Stivison was home in September celebrating his 9th wedding anniversary. His wife says, “he wouldn’t want us to be sad he would want us to keep our heads up and be positive.”
Family members say three other men were killed in the explosion Eryn says, “I’m gonna leave all my yellow ribbons up until all his soldiers come home safe because that’s what he would want. he’d want it to say right there until they’re all home.”
Sgt. Stivison was deployed three times Eryn says he was serving in Afghanistan securing the routes for other convoy’s.
