D-49 Announces Candidates For Superintendent Job

FALCON – The D-49 school board announced Thursday night the four candidates who are trying to become the district newest superintendent.

*Mike Poore with Colorado Springs District 11. The D-11 school board recently turned him down for the Superintendent vacancy. He also worked in the Sheridan School district outside of Denver.

*Bentley Rayburn, a former US Congressional candidate for the 5th congressional district. He lost to Rep. Doug Lamborn.

*Dr. Brad Schoeppeywith the Tulsa, Oklahoma school district. He currently holds the position of Area Superintendent.

*Dr. Donna Howell who left the Steamboat School District in 2007.She is now the directorof the Yampa Valley Housing Authority. Previously, she came from a school district in New York, where she served as a regional vice president.

25 people applied for the job and the board hopes to have thenew superintendent hired by July. This will be the eighth superintendent for the district in six years.
