COLORADO SPRINGS – NEWSCHANNEL 13 is following the journey of one family trying to save the life of a two-year-old dog rescued from a puppy mill.
Gidget was among 60 dogs rescued from an Alamosa puppy mill in February. Gidget arrived at the Pikes Peak Humane Society in awful shape: malnourished, dirty and terrified of humans. Humane society handlers say she didn’t know how to be a dog, and spent the entire two years of her life confined to a cage, used only to breed.
Gidget was one of several other dogs taken to foster homes in an attempt to rehabilitate them so they could one day lead a normal dog life. Rehabilitating a puppy mill dog can take months of hard work, with no guarantee of a happy ending.
For the last three months, NEWSCHANNEL 13 has tracked Gidget’s progress.
Join us Thursday night on NEWSCHANNEL 13 at 10 to get a first hand look at Gidget’s journey to a normal life – it’s a story you’ll only see here.
