Statewide Honor For Soldier On Day Of Ft. Carson Funeral
COLORADO SPRINGS – A young soldier described as kind and funny is going to be given a farewell to rememberSaturday at Fort Carson, and across the state.
21-year-old Sergeant James Pirtle, who many called “Jimmy”, was born and raised in Southern Colorado.He was killed in Afghanistan last week.
Saturday he’s going to be honored by his friends, family, fellow soldiers on the Mountain Post in a funeral.
The Governor has ordered all flags across the state to be flown at half-staff in honor of Sergeant Pirtle. He will be buried at Fort Logan Cemetery in Denver.
