LandCo Files Suit Against USOC, City Of Colorado Springs

By Josh Simeone J.Simeone@krdo.com

COLORADO SPRINGS – NEWSCHANNEL 13 has learned LandCo has filed a federal lawsuit against the City of Colorado Springs and the U.S. Olympic Committee.

The suit states the city’s failure to purchase the new U.S.O.C. building, now under construction on Tejon Street.

“Colorado Springs failed to purchase the USOC headquarters on November 14, 2008, as it was required to do,” the lawsuit states.

“LandCo sees no other option to keep this deal together and the USOC in Colorado Springs but to bring this lawsuit seeking specific performances to force the City and the USOC to perform their original obligations and compensate LandCo for their delay.”

Colorado Springs Mayor Lionel Rivera and Assistant City Manager Mike Anderson were also named in the lawsuit.
