Springs Shooting Death Ruled Murder, No Arrests Made
COLORADO SPRINGS – Police have identified the victim of a shooting that left one man deadSunday morning.
Lt. David Whitlock says the victim, 20-year-old Robert Fox of Colorado Springs,died of an apparent gunshot wound around 5:32 a.m.outside theSouthwest Autoat 2444 Platte Place near the intersection of Platte and Boulder.
The El Paso County Coroners Office completed an autopsy on Fox, and his death has been ruled a Homicide, with the cause of death being a gunshot wound to the torso. This is the 10th Homicide in 2009. There were 9 homicides in the City of Colorado Springs at this time in 2008.
Lt. David Whitlock says, “an investigation determined that just prior to the shooting, some interaction between 3 individuals associated with the business and the victim occurred in the parking lot/yard area of the business, and inside of a fenced area that surrounded the buildings. At some point, Fox was shot during that encounter. “
No charges have been made at this time. Police say once the investigation has been finishedinformation will be presented to the Fourth Judicial District Attorneys Office for review and a determination of charges.
