Husband Arrested In Wife’s Fatal Crash Near Milliken
WELD COUNTY -The husband of a woman who was killed in a crash near Milliken Wednesday night was arrested Thursday.
Scott Patrick Huggins, 30, of Milliken is being held on manslaughter and child abuse charges.
Huggins, his wife and four children were on Highway 60 near Milliken Wednesday night when their SUV rolled.
Danielle Huggins, 28, was driving. She died at the scene.
Scott Huggins and the four children, ages 2 to 9, were treated at North Colorado Medical Center.
Scott Huggins and all four children were properly restrained, according to investigators.
The Greeley Tribune reported that it was the statements of the children in the car that prompted sheriff’s deputies to arrest Scott Huggins for his part in the car crash.
Affidavits released Friday show the children said their parents were fighting just before the crash, and Scott Huggins hit and grabbed his wife, and even pulled her hand from the steering wheel just before the crash.
