Panel Rejects ‘Make My Day’ Law For Businesses
DENVER – A proposal to expand the state’s “Make My Day” law to cover businesses has failed for the third straight year.
The bill would have allowed business owners, managers and employees to use deadly force against intruders who enter a workplace illegally. Residents now have that right at home.
A Senate committee killed the Republican proposal Wednesday on a party-line vote with little discussion.
The bill was backed by a Colorado sheriffs group but opposed by the a police chiefs group.
