Police Warn Residents Of Possible Scammer

COLORADO SPRINGS – Colorado Springs police are looking for a suspicious man scamming residents out of money throughout the city.

Police say they have received several reports of a man knocking on doors and telling the homeowners that his car broke down and needs money. In some cases the man has given the victim a check or credit card number with intent to pay them back. When the victims try and cash them in there is no money.

The man is described as white and in his early 40’s. He is 6 feet tall and around 190 pounds. He has been seen driving a dark colored pickup truck.

Police are reminding residents to use caution when answering their doors and do not allow any person, they do not know, to enter their homes.

If you have any information on this scam, you are asked to call police at 444-7000.
