Focus On The Family Plans To Cut 202 Jobs
COLORADO SPRINGS – Focus on the Family is cutting 202 jobs, the largest staff cuts in the evangelical Christian group’s 31-year history.
Focus on the Family reports 149 actively filled positions will be cut by the month’s end. Another 53 open positions will be left vacant. Focus on the Family chief Operating Officer Glenn Williams blames the struggling economy and smaller number of donations that account for 96% of the group’s total revenue.He says donations in October were down $2 million compared to the same month in 2007.
Glenn Williams, the group’s chief operating officer, says many of the cuts involve operations, human resources, finance and marketing.
